one dead possum! have shot one with a 204 @ 30 yards the bullet went straight through didn't hit any bone i assume then again my 17hmr just about cut one in half all about what the bullet hits i suppose?

Tad Overkill - but if you were aiming at the possum from 300m away then justifiable. a .22 is more economical, but good on you for getting into pest control.

50/50 I use a 300 mag for possoms and there is nothing left.

You people should think about it a 300 win mag would be travelling that quick it would pass through a possum without expanding at all!!!

no way that was shot with a 300 mag, Ive shot coons with a 270, it turns them inside out and upside down and they look like 3 week old road kill
