The Central Otago Hunting & Fishing New Zealand store has a great location adjacent to the main highway at Cromwell, in other words we have selected a site which is in the middle of Central Otago. The location is not only convenient for local outdoor sports people, holiday makers and tourists visiting the area will also find the store easy to access with plenty of parking, even for camper vans or those with boats on trailers.

With 600sq/m of retail floor area the store is a destination in itself. The build and fit-out has been a team effort involving experienced builders, friends and helpers. Macrocarpa has been used extensively to create an 'outdoors' atmosphere and we have invested in plenty of space to stock as many of the fantastic products featured in the Hunting & Fishing New Zealand catalogue as is practical for our region. Central Otago people can now get a wider choice of quality hunting, fishing, camping and tramping equipment, seven days a week.

Our local knowledge is second to none! Before wasting valuable time trying to locate the best hunting, fishing, camping or tramping spots, call in for some friendly advice and a steer in the right direction. Whether its trout fishing in the many handy lakes and rivers or a short trip to the coast for salt waterfishing and whitebaiting, we have the up to date info. Of course the hills hold deer, pigs, goats and birds such as quail and pheasants, not to mention geese and ducks when the season arrives. With a short drive we are into tahr and chamois country, meanwhile the local rabbit shooting is a phenomenon which brings many people to the area.

Scott Kunac - Co-Owner

Scott has owned the Otago franchise and operated his Dunedin store for almost 20 years. He is a keen hunter and fits in the odd spot of fishing when all is quiet on the hunting front. He hunts everything, but enjoys a good days pigg'n with dogs best of all. His favourite rifle was a Sako .222 that has now been pimped out to a 223 with a trueflight barrel, gunworks moderator and a fancy McMillan stock. His shotgun of choice is now the Benelli Cordoba.
