Stores

Mega Store? From 200sqm to nearly 1000sqm - that's five times bigger! It took franchise owners Gary and Judy Fraser two years of searching and when they finally found the ideal building to expand Hunting & Fishing Waikato into, it was just 200 metres south of their current location on Te Rapa Road in Hamilton!

The Grand Opening was on the 7th April 2008. Master Builder Murray Nichol's who's won awards for his work on other Hunting & Fishing New Zealand stores, was appointed to spearhead the shop fit-out. To get the store ambience that Gary wanted, Murray sourced wood such as matai, totara, macrocarpa and redwood from locations as diverse as Northland and the Bay of Plenty.

Thames Hunting & Fishing New Zealand opened on April 7th 2007. Owner Grayson Reynolds transformed a Kopu warehouse into a store with real ambience. "Customers are in for a pleasant surprise and with DOC information instore as well, Thames Hunting & Fishing will become a tourist attraction in itself. A real outdoors person's destination store." Macrocarpa, kahikatea, oregon, even some recycled Coromandel kauri has been used to create the rustic theme on walls, stairs and display areas. The natural features in the timber are highlighted and oiled with amazing results.
