Thames Hunting & Fishing New Zealand opened on April 7th 2007. Owner Grayson Reynolds transformed a Kopu warehouse into a store with real ambience. "Customers are in for a pleasant surprise and with DOC information instore as well, Thames Hunting & Fishing will become a tourist attraction in itself. A real outdoors person's destination store." Macrocarpa, kahikatea, oregon, even some recycled Coromandel kauri has been used to create the rustic theme on walls, stairs and display areas. The natural features in the timber are highlighted and oiled with amazing results.

Grayson Reynolds
Grayson is the owner of the shop and grew up hunting and fishing all over New Zealand. When he realised there was no Hunting & Fishing store on the Coromandel Peninsula he approached the company and asked if he could open a franchise for the region. "Hunting and fishing is something I love doing so why not work at doing something you love."
