New Store Open Friday 25th November 2011!!
Initially five years ago when three local farmers thought they would sell some guns and a few fishing rods as a variation to farming and on the way source cheaper ammo, decoys, rods and reels to subsidise their fanatical duck shooting, deer stalking, and saltwater fishing habits, they had no idea where it would lead!
As their passion for the outdoors has grown so has their Hunting & Fishing business and their loyal customer base to the point where the store has had to relocate and build a new store on State Highway 3 on the Wanganui main bypass highway. The existing shop of 500 sq mtrs has been relocated to a brand new purpose built 800 sq mtrs with a built in café, (which has been named Poachers Café). Nothing like scoffing down a dagwood or a pie before heading into the bush, or having a hot brew on the way out of the scrub.
With a bit of kiwi ingenuity and originality they have come up with a must see store right on the Main Highway.
We have managed to retain all retail team members for the relocation with a couple of additions lifting our staffing number to 12 with the café included. The new premises provides plenty of free car parking with easy access off State Highway 3, for boats, campers, caravans and road trains if needed.

Clint Skedgwell (Director)
Clint has hunted and fished his whole life. He is a fanatical duck shooter, deer stalker and regularly fishes off the Wanganui West Coast.
Formally a farmer he knows what the rural sector requires in gear and equipment, if it doesn't stack up he wont sell it.
His easy going nature and sound advice is an asset hard to find.
Blair Gillam
Blair has been a great find. His knowledge of the outdoors is vast, from camping to tramping. He has a wealth of personal experience. Of late he has honed his hunting skills and regularly takes trips away to his favourite possies.
Bernee Gray
Bernee's forte is Saltwater Fishing, in particular Land Based Fishing & Surf Casting with over 20 years of local experience.
He is also a keen Hunting enthusiast with quite a few river trips to his name. He also got addicted to Duck Shooting last year.
Graeme Houlahan
Graeme is the newest member of the Wanganui Hunting & Fishing Team. He is very passionate about Surfcasting, with 35 Years on or in the salty brine. Graeme is a Trainee Hunter, and has a good knowledge of Camping, and is also an active member of the Mountain Safety Council. He has three very keen boys to help guide him.
