Otaki Hunting & Fishing opened in December 2006 and since then has concentrated on getting stocking specific to the Kapiti/Horowhenua area as well as the core items to be found in all H&F stores.
The staff are all knowledgeable "out there doin it" people who pride themselves on the customer leaving the shop with the right gear for the right job.
This coming Waterfowl season Otaki Hunting & Fishing will be stocking possibly the largest range of Over/Under shotguns in the country due to Charlie's growing passion for Driven Pheasant Shooting. In fact for all things Pheasant, Otaki will have or can cater for all your shooting needs. This will not be at the expense of the good old kiwi waterfowler who will also find everything covered in store. But hey, between now and then we have a hell fishing season to rip into not to mention some outstanding spring hunting of both small and large game.
If your kicking off your outdoors career or you've been at it for a lifetime we are the people who can help you. Our State Highway 1 location means you don't have to stray off the beaten track to get the gear that you need TO stray off the beaten track, or if your fishing off this coast call in for the latest word on where the fish are and how to catch them.
We are looking forward to seeing you either in here or out there, we don't really mind.

Charlie Meyer
Charlie owns the store with his wife Kelly and they have three kids who love the outdoors. Charlie's main focus is the salt water off Kapiti and the waterfowl and upland game that the whole of New Zealand has to offer. He also likes to get in as much early season freshwater fishing as he can before the sea water warms up and its time for the boat.
