The Sage TCX

By Mike Davis | 27 November 2008

While the Sage Z-Axis has proven to be the phenomenal rod we predicted for most New Zealand fishing situations, Sage have continued to improve on other options in their range. The latest step forward is the exciting introduction of the "NEW" TCX rod range. The TCX is best described not as an all rounder, but a special purpose rod for accomplished anglers.

Sage never rest on their laurels and are forever researching and developing methods and materials that can make their rod blanks lighter in physical weight and more responsive to the angler. Sage's TCX breaks new boundaries in technology and the result in fishing terms is a fast tip action fly rod for the competent angler. The TCX helps skilled anglers cast further than ever before. With absolute ease we found we could reach nooks and crannies on rivers and lakes that previously would have been out of range. Using the TCX we have been able to break through the toughest of early season winds, and where we have had to bring those 'dreadful' heavy bombs into play, this rod will turn them over like they're just not there!

The 5# and 6# TCX rods will become extremely popular with backcountry fishermen across the country, especially South Islander's who have those relentless Nor-westerlies to contend with - particularly on their bigger rivers.

By the way, the TCX is a great looking rod finished in a glossy forest green blank with slim-line nickel silver and rosewood reel seat. If distance casting and long range fishing is 'your thing', we believe you can look no further than the TCX. The place to check one out is the Sage rack at your participating Hunting & Fishing New Zealand store.
