NZ's Best Selling .22 Bolt Action

By | 25 November 2008

Originally styled off the legendary Brno .22 Bolt Action, the Chinese version, the JW15 has accounted for countless thousands of rabbits, hares, possums and magpies in rural New Zealand. NZ firearms import company Outdoor Outfitters sought to make a good thing better by adapting a modern Synthetic Stock design and commissioning a JW 15 production run. The result answers the needs of the budget orientated farmer who considers firearms to be merely farm tools for taking care of pests and also the casual small game hunter who requires a functional, value for money weapon.

The synthetic stock has long been regarded as the ideal material for gunstocks in this country particularly when the firearm is subjected to exposure to rain, dew, blood, etc or when it is going to get bounced around on a quad or ute like when night shooting pests. Synthetic stocks require less maintenance than wood and can not swell and effect the rifles accuracy through 'movement' and pressure changes on the barrel.

The Outdoor Outfitters JW 15 has other features going for it as well. The package advertised on this page comes with a factory threaded barrel so that a sound moderator can be fitted. At Hunting & Fishing New Zealand, our deal is to include the NZ made Husssh Sound Moderator as it is the lightest and quietest we know of. Our deal for $299-99 also includes the Outdoors Optics 4x32 Scope and Mounts!

Very practical firearm and value for money, wouldn't mind to have one in my cabinet.

Standard issue Cadet Forces target shooting rifle. Even though they have wooden stock they're still pretty cool.
