New Store for Dannevirke!

Dannevirke has been enjoying a retail boom in recent times with several national brands opening new outlets. Inspired by the prosperous outlook, a local couple Richard and Ada France have made a determined effort to establish a Hunting & Fishing New Zealand store in the town.
Located in the building previously occupied by Mills Brothers Furniture Court at the northern end of town (opposite the public toilets), the new Dannevirke location is ideal for both locals and those just passing through. At the time of writing the 400 square metre store was a hive of activity with builders and shop fitters racing to get the store ready for opening on Saturday 26th November. The store will carry as much of the Hunting & Fishing New Zealand range as is possible and practical in Dannevirke, saving locals the cost of travelling out of town for these essentials.
Richard and Ada describe themselves as a great husband and wife team. Ada's background has been in the hospitality industry, while Richard has a real outdoor background which customers are going to benefit from. His hunting experience includes 6 trips to Stewart Island, annual Chamois and Tahr hunts to the West Coast or Rangitata regions, not to mention the red deer hunting in the Ruahines. He's also shot small-bore competitively. With shotgun in hand his credentials go back to Feilding Agricultural High School where his team won the NZ Secondary Schools clay birds champs. Since that time he has shot at the local Dannevirke gun club, as well as being a passionate duck hunter. After leaving school, Richard first worked on a station in the Rangitikei before returning home to purchase the family farm near Dannevirke, becoming the 4th generation owner. Talk fishing and you find he and Ada have a bach at nearby Herbertville where they keep their 5.5m Mako boat, but he also chases trout particularly at Taupo and in recent times has made an annual fishing/camping trip to Lake Waikaremoana.
Camping is a passion and a summer way of life for Richard and Ada. They are well aware that until now the region has not had a decent camping shop and they are determined to provide this at Hunting & Fishing New Zealand Dannevirke.
GRAND OPENING: Saturday 26th November 2011, 145 High Street, Dannevirke.
