Takanini a New Era

Takanini's Hunting & Fishing New Zealand store is now under new ownership. Ben Staessens, the new Manager, has made dramatic changes to the shop since April when he took over. The first thing that strikes you is the new and exciting products that have been added to the selection. The specialist range keeps expanding daily and the close relationship the Takanini store has with suppliers makes this store one of Auckland’s most up to date.

But the focus has not just been to keep up with trends within the hunting and fishing industry. Ben is also proud of his new team stating they are totally customer focused and will meet all the needs of hunting and fishing enthusiasts, whether they are a beginner needing advice, starting out, or a seasoned pro. His staff have a wealth of knowledge and are willing and able to answer most questions. They keep up to date with new products and techniques by attending regular product information courses and they personally test a lot of the gear so they have first hand knowledge and insight into the equipment they sell.

As Ben says, "We are all active hunters and fishermen, and like to share our experiences with you. We would like to hear your success stories also. Come in and have a look around and see check out what we have done to the shop."

Ben Staessens

Deerstalker, duck shooter, saltwater fisherman and he catches the odd trout too. Basically he is mad about the outdoors and anything to do with hunting and fishing. Ben is very customer orientated and likes nothing more than helping out a "newbie" with their first rod or rifle. If you need advice on soft baiting Ben is the guy! No question is too hard, if he doesn't know it he will find the answer for you.

Alan Young

The old man of the sea and river. Alan's passion is fishing. When he isn't catching trout in Taupo, he is talking about what he has caught or what fly is the secret weapon of the moment. Closer to home, he is often out in his boat targeting snapper. Alan is also a keen and active duck shooter.

Kyle Rush

The newest team member at Hunting and Fishing New Zealand Takanini. Kyle is a keen deerstalker and avid hunter therefore his local knowledge and passion for the outdoors is something our customers readily relate to. Kyle is very enthusiastic about his role in our team and is busy learning as much as possible about the hunting and fishing industry so that he can be an even bigger asset to the business.
