Introducing the Chair Blind

When the first samples arrived in the New Year my boss Gary, who knows how keen I am when it comes to shooting parries and geese, put my name forward to testfire the Chair Blind. I agreed but reminded him that special parrie season didn't start before the catalogue deadline. Then I remembered the mob of sharp eyed noisy magpies behind my house. Those smart ass's had been out witting me for months, so the magpie hunt was on!
The Chair Blind is basically a hide constructed around your typical fold-out camping/directors chair. The camo is autumn toned 3D leaf-pattern. The hunter is not only concealed but also protected from the worst of the elements. The clever use of a sprung steel frame sewn into the lining helps provide plenty of head and leg room (I am six foot three)! Thought has gone into the design with the addition of an ammo/ lunch bag to keep essentials off the wet ground and there is even a drink holder - for coffee of course! To spot game the blind has six viewing ports two on each side one at the front and back, five of which open to allow rifle hunters to shoot in most directions. For shotgun shooting the front part of the hide can be fully unzipped for an unrestricted field of fire or you can flick the front part of the hide back to shoot. If a wider field of fire is needed the roof can be flipped right back over your head with the camo spread over your knees – great for night flights! For my type of hunting I'm picking that unzipping the front section will suit me the best as I will place my decoys so as to attract the birds into this field of fire. The Chair Blind comes in a pack/bag with shoulder straps, can be set up in minutes and is supplied with pegs to hold it firmly on the ground if windy. Pay attention to detail, when hunting pull up a little natural material to help the Chair Blind blend into the surroundings.
Getting back to the magpie hunt, I was waiting for them, seated comfortably soon after daybreak. It's amazing how close birds and also animals will come to you when you are sitting quietly in this chair. It was just a matter of waiting until they made their mind up to fly out to the decoys in front of me - where I whacked out a bit of revenge for all the mornings they had woken me at some un-godly hour!
I am convinced that the Chair Blind will be an excellent weapon for hunting parries, mallards and in the right situation geese. Possibilities too for still hunting bush edges etc for deer or even pigs. Whatever the quarry it sure beats sitting on the cold wet ground for hours lying under camo netting!
