Gerber Metolius Knife

Gerber has been the best selling knife brand in our stores for the last five years, mainly due to the popularity 'on the hill' of the Gator Range. This season sees the introduction of three exciting new Gerber models all of which have been secured exclusively by the Hunting and Fishing New Zealand network of stores.
The new Gerber Metolius series of knives comes in three popular styles. A fixed blade drop point and a drop point folder with or without a gut hook. We secured the entire shipment of Gerber Metolius knives because they combine wider blade versions of the most popular hunting blade styles found on the Gator range, with a more rugged heavy duty handle. The result is that your Gerber Metolius delivers the versatility of doubling as hunting or a camp knife. The new black glass-filled nylon handle with soft-grip portrays a solid, grunty looking knife. In the hand, yoy with its extra weight and deeper blade style, this look is confirmed. You realise immediately that while a little heavier, it is a much stronger knife than the Gator and could handle almost any cutting, gutting or skinning situation with ease - as well as being handy around camp.
On a thar hunting trip during the winter we took along the new Metolius fixed blade model and gave it a work out on a big hairy bull. Having that little bit of extra weight helped the blade push through the 8mm thick hide of the animal with ease and, as you would expect from a Gerber, it held its edge just fine to complete a head and shoulder skinning job.
All three knives come with a strong cordura sheath or pouch and the folders feature a thumb stud on the blade for ease of opening with one hand. At the special Hunting & Fishing New Zealand scoop purchase price of only $99.99 these knives represent the best value for money we have seen in a quality blade for a few years and, short of losing it, your Gerber Metolius should last the keenest of hunters a lifetime.
I look forward to seeing a pig sticker added to the range one day as the Metolius has that grunty feel about it which would give you the Gerber has been the best selling knife brand in our stores for confidence to do the business on the throat of a big stroppy boar.
