The Otamarakau PTA Surf Fishing Competition is now in its 11th year and is now amongst the largest Surf Fishing competitions on the New Zealand fishing calendar.

2009’s competition drew a record number of entries with over 750 people from all over New Zealand and some from as far afield as Australia taking part.

The competition in 2010 is sure to be a success with a massive Prize pool of over $11000.00 in cash and prizes.

On offer are the traditional prizes of $4000.00 cash for the heaviest Snapper (kindly donated by Winstone Aggregates) and a Powertiki Loneline fishing system valued at around $2000 for the heaviest Kahawai (kindly donated by Powertiki).

Tickets are still only $25 per rod / handline and are on sale from any of the following outlets:
