ITM Fishing Show Screening

Are we finally going to have a weekend that isn't forecast with thunder and lightning, and wind and rain? However, if you plan to head out for a fish this weekend, then be sure to be back in time to watch our big snapper and kingfish filled show on TV3, Saturday, at 5:30pm.
This week we set out to explore a pristine harbour bursting with potential, and before we even launch the boat, shoals of baitfish are attacked by marauding kingfish and hungry snapper, just metres from the boat ramp. This episode has it all; stunning underwater footage, frantic big snapper action in the shallows and plenty of laughs along the way.
This weekend's episode is also your last chance this year to win a fishing trip with us! Be sure to watch The ITM Fishing Show on Saturday, and then listen to The Morning Rumble on the Rock on Monday morning, and maybe, just maybe, you could be heading out with us on the Ultimate Big Day Out fishing!
To find out more details, and listen to the three winners joining us so far, head to our website http://www.thefishingshow.co.nz/as+seen+on+the+show/the+big+day+out+fishing

What's the haps East Coast?
Kingfish, Kingfish, Kingfish... They are here and they are big. Seen some reports form around the East Coast of very big green backed, yellow tailed trucks. Live baits have been taking the biggest ones but the stick baits and jigs have been holding their own as well. Haven't heard of any big snapper being taken yet but it's only a matter of a temperature shift and it'll be on. Don't reach for your anchor too soon from now on... get your sounder set up properly and hunt the fish. Keep an eye out for some swell this weekend, particularly if you're land-based... or, just pack your board as well.
What's the haps West Coast?
Not surprisingly the reports out on the West Coast have been few and far between. Week after week of Sou-Westers have made the job hard, but a little bird from Taranaki did say that some good snaps have been coming in recently. Hopefully the weather plays ball for you guys this weekend and we can get some long overdue reports posted up in the site.
Moon/Tides
2.02am Moonrise on Saturday, so with a 11.47am Moonset your best option should be with the moon directly overhead at 6.54am and again when directly underfoot at about 7.00pm. The tides are going through their ‘nothing phase'... not really dropping or rising (bottom of the cycle)... so patience and a hunting attitude will be the order of the day.
Until next week!
Tightlines,
The ITM Fishing Show
