Trap Predators - Win Prizes!
- No paperwork to fill in before hunting - we'll get your info when you bring tails in for counting.
- Trap or shoot ferrets, stoats and weasels preferably around wetlands.
- Remove and freeze the tails. Bring the tails into your local Hunting & Fishing New Zealand store during the month of November for counting.
- Every tail entered equals one chance in the draws! The more tails the more chances of a win.
Non qualifying predators...
Every feral cat, rat, or even hedgehog trapped is a bonus. While these animals can't be entered, your prize is the satisfaction of wiping out a predator that targets duck eggs, ducklings or even full grown hens. If hawks are attacking fully protected species or farm poultry your local DOC office can issue a permit allowing you to remove them. 2016 was another solid year for the Swamp Comp with around 200 hunters or hunting groups entering, and 2000 tails handed in, The event has the support of Fish & Game and DOC so let's make 2017 the most successful year ever.
