A Lady in the Hills

Ever since I was a kid I have had a passion for hunting, fishing, and diving.  I love the experience of being ‘Out There Doing it’ and getting out on the water or doing the miles in hills with the added bonus of the mental reset it gives me.

When I head into the back country, I need to be sure that any of the kit I take with me is reliable, durable and has the ability to stand up to any conditions or task that may come my way.  This is one of the reasons why I am a massive fan of my Lowa Lady III’s. Not only are they dependable and durable they are also the most comfortable boots I have worn and these are three factors that Lowa pride themselves on!

The full-length nylon stabiliser gives extra support that enables more confidence when tackling difficult and challenging terrain, such as scree slopes or steep guts in the scrub.

The Vibram soles and PU midsoles add comfort, grip and reliability when hunting or on a multiple day tramp. The load bearing 15kg + is a definite bonus though, I would even say is a necessity to get further into the back country comfortable and blister free. Not only this, but the Vibram outsole is re-soleable!

Now let's talk about the Gore Tex and Nubuck leather.

Unlike traditional leather, nubuck is easier to wear-in meaning no blisters from the get-go. It is also a tough and wear resistant leather adding an extra layer of waterproofing to the boot on top of the lining.

Gore Tex is the most waterproof and highly breathable material on the market, making it an exceptional lining for the Lady III GTX, keeping your feet dry all day. The breathability of the lining allows sweat to escape the boot whilst preventing water from entering, especially when you are walking through mud, wet tussock, or shallow creeks.

The X lacing stud and rolling eyelets are two of my favourite features of this boot. The X lacing stud allows you to lace the boot around a lug to prevent the tongue from sliding around to the side and underneath your gaiters, it also helps prevent pressure and blisters.

This a fantastic feature because you don’t find yourself stopping all the time to adjust your boots, just lace them up and hit the bush! The roller eyelets not only allow for ease of lacing up when they are wet and cold but put less stress and friction on your laces meaning no broken laces halfway through your hunting trip.

With all that said, if you spend a lot of time in the outdoors and want to take your experience to the next level, having a pair of boots that fit correctly and are designed for women in mind can make all the difference.

The original cost of $699.99 was well worth the comfort and reliability these boots offer. But the great news is that the Lady III GTX has been dropped to a new everyday low price of an unbeatable $499.99!
